The PCC meet recently to discuss when to re-open church for Sunday services. Whilst we could re-open now we felt that things were still uncertain and it was a bit risky to open immediately. There is a detailed risk assessment to complete and we need to have in place cleaning protocols, one way signage and many other things before we can re-open. The PCC thought it would be better to do all of these things really thoroughly and carefully before we reopen. We want to ensure that church is as safe a place as possible for us before we re-open. So our first service back in church will be at 10.00am on Sunday 6th September.
We need to be preparing ourselves for the service to look very different to what we were doing before lockdown. We will not be able to sing or greet each other with a hug or handshake, have coffee together or stay in church to chat after the service and we won’t be able to offer Childrens’ groups initially, either. We will have to maintain social distancing at all times so we will have one systems in and out, will have to sanitise our hands on arrival and give our names and contact details to our welcomer when we arrive. We’ll explain more about this nearer the time. In the meantime please do be praying for all the preparations and be praying that we will all be kind, patient and gracious as we adjust to worshipping in a new way. It’s going to be strange for us all.
We know that some of you will not feel able to come to church because you are vulnerable, or anxious. For that reason all our services, when we do re-open, will be live streamed to our YouTube channel (All Saints Parish Church Old Isleworth) and saved there so that you can join in in real time or watch at your convenience.
Please keep an eye on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/allsaintsisleworth), Twitter (@AllSaintsTW7), our website (www.allsaints-isleworth.org) and emails for further notices, opportunities for prayer etc.
This comes with our love to you all. May God bless you and protect you in all that you do.
